Happy People = Performance and Retention Using PERK: Purpose, Engagement, Resilience, Kindness
Waterford uses the PERK (Purpose, Engagement, Resilience, Kindness) framework developed by the Greater Good Science Center (GGSC) as the foundation for our performance consulting projects.
Clients want to ensure team members are happy at work, which correlates with good performance. Keeping people happy is also an effective employee retention strategy.
PERK is "a flexible, integrated framework to help guide thinking about how to increase happiness at work," GGSC notes. There are many ways to implement a PERK-based program, at the individual, team, and organizational levels.
